Guinness World Records -Most People Sewing Event.The records break are 606 peoples sewing simultaneously.
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 606 participants took part in a mass sewing event at Cempaka Sari Auditorium in the Putrajaya Corporation Complex for the attempt to break Guinness World Record. A representative of Guinness World Records from New Zealand was present to certify the record-setting attempt.
Organised jointly by the Creative Sewing Art Association (PSJK), Pusat Latihan Kraftangan Epal, Putrajaya Corporation, Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) as well as Janome Malaysia, the event was aimed at promoting batik art work as a national heritage. A representative of Guinness World Records from New Zealand was present to certify the record-setting attempt.
Present to witness the one-day event themed “Be A Part of The Breakthrough And Make Someone’s Dreams Come True’ were KPWKM Deputy Minister Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri. At the same event, the Malaysian Book of Record also recognised the making of the longest sofa measuring more than 52.5 metres using recycled materials such as old jeans. The sofa was produced by prisoners at the Seberang Perai Prison in Penang. — BERNAMA
